Verizon Fios speed

Starting at 300 Mbps, Verizon offers some of the fastest overall speeds of any internet provider. Because it uses a fiber connection, you’ll get the same upload and download speeds. (Upload speeds are typically much lower.) That means you won’t have any conferences with things like online gaming or video conference.

Verizon also delivers on the speeds you pay for. In the FCC’s latest report, Verizon Fios ranked as the very best provider for reaching the speeds that they advertise. It was also one of the most consistent, delivering these speeds even during peak internet hours.

Verizon Fios customer satisfaction

In 2022, Verizon was ranked the best the Eastern region for a 10th consecutive year by J.D. Power. Overall satisfaction was the highest among competitors. It also ranked “among the best” in performance and reliability; the cost of service; billing; communication; and customer service. The American Customer Satisfaction Index also awarded Verizon Fios the top spot of any internet provider in 2022.

How does Verizon Fios compare?

Verizon compares favorably to other internet providers. It has a similar starting price to competitors, but its speed is almost always much higher. The only downside is that Verizon’s cheapest plan starts at $49.99/mo. If you just want to pay the lowest possible price, Verizon might not be your best option.

Our take

No matter how you look at it, Fios by Verizon is either the best or second-best internet provider in the country. (AT&T Fiber also has a decent argument.) It’s prices are very reasonable for the speeds they provide, and Verizon consistently delivers on those speeds. Put simply, if Verizon Fios is available at your address, you should get it.
