Thinking Twice about Moving In Together before Marriage Infographic

Moving in with a boyfriend or girlfriend is more common than ever. If you haven't done it, you know someone who has. Today over 7 million unmarried couples live together.

It’s easy to justify the move: convenience. Bills are easier to pay when you can split them. Living under one roof means less time spent traveling to see one another and more time to spend with the person who’s increasingly at the center of your life. Maybe moving in together is a test-run for marriage.

But what are the consequences of pre-marital cohabitation for the long-term prospects of your relationship? We were surprised by a CDC study published in March that shows, for both men and women, cohabitation before marriage decreases the likelihood the marriage will last.
